Netflix has been testing their data saving option for mobile devices to limit their app's bandwidth usage during content streaming over wireless network.
An hour of high definition TV episode on Netflix can consume up to 3 GB per hour or 7 GB per hour for Ultra HD. In Netflix new mobile app, you have the option to lower your data consumption by turning on the mobile data saver in the settings.
