Actually, at this point there are thousands of apps for nearly anything you can think of. Unfortunately, for the beautiful people no iDevices ship with a built-in mirror, but thankfully all devices now come with a front-facing camera and the glass screen can often capture your reflection if you’re desperate enough to see yourself. If you’re looking for a way to track the calories you consume and better track your diet look no further than this great app.

Created by MyFitnessPal, a website that lets you track what you eat, the Calorie Counter app lets you set daily calorie goals and then record your daily food intake and exercise to make sure you stay fit and healthy.

According to MyFitnessPal, Calorie Counter has the largest food database compared to many iPhone apps so you can track accurately your daily caloric intake. It also features over 1.1 million foods.

Entering foods that you’re eaten is very easy thanks to the built-in barcode scanners. Simply point your camera at the product barcode and the app will work out the calories, fat, protein, carbs, sugar and fiber of the product.

The app also lets your tack more than 350 different exercises, and is smart enough to work out how many calories you burn during your workout, or lets you enter this information manually.

Lastly, Calorie Counter lets you connect with friends to easily motivate each other. It’s an important feature that lets MyFitnessPal boast that members of the site who diet with friends lose three time more weight on average.

RunKeeper

As Calorie Counter is to calorie counting and weight loss, RunKeeper is to exercise.

The app uses GPS to track the progress of your exercise, and works anytime you are outside and your phone has reception. When you’re inside in a gum you can also use RunKeeper to input your exercise.

Once you have finished your workout RunKeeper automatically syncs your activity with the RunKeeper website, where you can view your exercise statistics.

The basic RunKeeper is free but you can also subscribe to a product called RunKeeper Live that lets anyone follow your activity via the the website in real time.

With RunKeeper Elite you also get access to more detailed reports about your activities.

Finally, RunKeeper FitnessClasses are training classes developed by expert coaches that you can take with other RunKeeper users. Hour Face is simple to use. Take a portrait shot (or you can select one from your photo library) and the aging process will begin in front of your eyes. To make sure you get the full effect ensure that you take a photo in bright, natural light with the subject’s head held straight, and with the forehead visible.

Once the aging process has taken place you can reverse it by turning your iPhone upside down again. You can also swipe the screen side to side to turn the face.

FoodSwitch, released by Bupa Australia, makes it easy to make healthy choices when you’re in the supermarket by letting you scan more than 20,000 product barcodes to see comparison products that are healthier for you.

It’s easy to use an very effective.

The first step is to scan the barcode of packaged food by using the built-in camera on your iPhone or iPad. Once the app recognizes a product it presents you with a color-coded ratings for four key food components (total fat, saturated fat, sugar and salt). Red indicated a less healthy choice, amber is an OK choice and green is a healthier choice.

If you’ve ever wanted to experiment with what you look like, but didn’t have the time to sit at a hairdresser’s you should try iStylist.

Billed as a ‘fun and easy way to create makeovers wright from your iPhone or iPod touch’ the app lets you pick an existing photo (or use the camera) and try hundreds of different hairstyles, glasses, hats, makeup and facial hair.

iStylist is primarily designed for females but males can have fun with the app too. Like most apps, once you’ve got the perfect look you can upload the app to Facebook, or share it with the iStylist community who can rate your image.
