Gmail has a new feature called Priority Inbox that sorts your most important e-mails based on what messages you reply and read.

Gmail has the most advanced and most effective spam filters around. With that in mind, Gmail has developed a new feature that sorts and finds your good email in your inbox and prioritize them so you can you can focus your attention on emails that you need to respond to.
It tracks how you use your email and the types of messages and senders you most commonly respond to and read, and on your next email session it shows you what it thinks is important to you based on that information. If Gmail’s suggestion does not look right to you, you can adjust the message priority manually to make it work the way you want it to work.
