5 Ways To Beat A Hangover

For the past couple of weeks I have been binging alcoholic beverages to celebrate occasions with friends. But with that much fun comes the morning after we all dread – the morbid hangover.

Friends suggest things such as downing coffee, or taking paracetamol to ease the suffering. I don’t know if these things work because I have not tried them yet.

Personally, I have discovered some ways on how to beat a hangover. I hope this list helps to help you prepare for another night of drinking party!

1. Water

Alcohol is a diuretic. This substance makes your body increase its production of waste fluids which causes the person to urinate more often than usual. When you urinate, you lose fluids which causes dehydration.

Lack of water in the body is the major cause of hangover. That is why drinking plenty of water before you go to bed will help you ease that hangover torture the morning after.

2. Gatorade

Just like water, Gatorade will help you rehydrate your body. Not only that, it will also replenish electrolytes you lose when you pee often while binging those alcoholic drinks.

3. Banana

Another main cause of hangover is the depletion of potassium in the body as a direct result of too much alcohol consumption.

Bananas are an excellent source of potassium with over 450 mg per one banana serving. It is also high in magnesium, which can help relax blood vessels.

4 Fruit Shakes

Although I’m not sure why this concoction of blended fruits work, seemed very effective for me. Which is a good reason enough for me to drink some to help me bring back my sanity in the morning.

5. Moderation

Research shows that the body metabolizes a glass of beer (or a shot of tequilla) in about an hour. If you drink faster, your blood alcohol level rises faster.

But can you wait an hour before you down another bottle of colt? Hmm… That’s for you to decide.
